I gained everything. I learned about myself, about people, about the world. I would not have changed this experience for anything in the world.

I lived easily on a student budget, but I wanted to do so much shopping! Florence has incredible stores and the city is known for its leather work, so that was the most expensive part of the trip. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I spent around $75 a week on all my food, etc. |

How much did the program encourage you to use the language?
0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language |
I was always encouraged to speak in Italian, and the internship I completed there was solely in Italian because none of the people I worked with spoke any English! I learned and improved my language skills immensely. |

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Nearly Native or Trail BlazerCraving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.' |

Comments: | The teacher was very knowledgeable and always well prepared. She encouraged all kinds of questions and curiosity, and was always willing to help after class or recommend outside resources. The class challenged me to think in new ways, and the professor really helped all of the students to become feminists in our own ways. |
Credit Transfer Issues: | No problems at all! |
