What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I had a great time in London. I learned a lot about where I want to fit into the professional world as well as the kind of person I want to be.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I would give my internship experience with Groundwork UK 5 stars, and my classes with FIE 3. I did work with Groundwork that was relavant to my studies. My coworkers and supervisors were all very pleasant and helpful. The classes with FIE, however, were not well coordinated. My 3 instructors had each put together interesting and challenging syllabi, but the 7 week term was not conducive to looking at anything in depth.

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

While I didn't speak a foreign language in London, I did learn to pick up the differences in American and British English. I also picked up bits of the languages of the countries I visited (Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands), and was inspired to learn French upon my return.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? In London, I checked the TimeOut London website almost daily for things to do around town.
