How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The academics of CAPA can be intensive, but also relaxed enough so that you are not bogged down with classwork 24/7. The classes are focused on using real world application for every course whether it is for business or a general course. I learned a great deal about British history that I could not have learned through courses at home.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The CAPA staff was always helpful with any issue and was quick to resolve problems. They were there for me when I left the program as well and even helped me with interview preparation while abroad.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The living situation was well chosen as I was placed a ten minute walk from Kensington palace. I was able to walk to class every day and was only a 30/40 minute tube ride from the Piccadilly area. The flats were spread out across London which was hard at times for communicating with other students, but long as you were proactive in finding ways to meet, this was easily overcome.

* Food:

Food in London is amazing. Don't let people tell you that English food is terrible. There is so much culture and variety in all areas of London. Don't be afraid to try new things

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

CAPA has an unbelievable amount of events and activities for students to partake in. I took several tours, went to plays, walked through markets, and learned about the great history of London all as coursework.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I have never had an experience with the Health Care but we we're always made aware of the possible health hazards and proper methods for taking care of any issues.

* Safety:

The first week we were consulted by a London Police officer about any safety hazards and laws. There we're incidents that occurred which CAPA responded to promptly and effectively

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not too bad if you are smart about what you really need.

* Was housing included in your program cost? Yes
* Was food included in your program cost? No
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 60-80 USD for food and 80-100 USD per week for other expenses
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Look for deals in the supermarkets and at universities.
