Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I studied abroad during Fall 2017 in London through the CAPA program. CAPA supplied me with a fantastic crew of supportive teachers and faculty, who helped me navigate London. I found my own path there and, in a way, discovered who I am. I am forever grateful for the people I met and the time I spent in London. I'm not one to encourage people to do anything. I would encourage anyone who wants to study abroad to do it through CAPA. The supply everything you need to have an amazing time, discover who you are, and learn. If I could go back to London tomorrow, I would. The program gives you three-day weekend, so you can go to other parts of Europe and explore. I went to Greece, Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium and many other countries. In each place I discovered something new, made new friends, and saw places and things I didn't dream I would ever see. CAPA is more than a study abroad program it's a transformative experience that will hold some of your greatest life memories.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The CAPA staff is incredible. From computer issues to emergencies they are there for you every step of the way.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My flat was amazing! Capa supplies a cleaning service and houses students in some of the most trendy neighborhoods in London. I lived in Camden. My flat was a two bedroom, two bath with a large living room, dining room and kitchen. It was way nicer then I was expecting. The beds were not the most comfortable but with a mattress pad you will sleep like a baby!

* Food:

I am not ashamed to say I gained at least 5 lbs pigging out on the best food London has to offer!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Capa does not do the best job introducing students to local UK students, its fairly easy to meet people on your own. Spend some time in a Pub on a Friday night and you will make some wonderful British friends!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I never got sick, but I knew who to go to if I did get sick.

* Safety:

Capa has a app that alerts you if there are any emergencies. The app also allows students to inform staff of there weekend plans and location.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

If I could go back to London right now, I would. In ten years, I will probably still want to go back to London!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

London is pricy but If you save up before your trip you will be fine living on a student budget

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent between 40-60 pounds a week.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? The exchange rate is absolute --you know what--- just remember that a huge chunk of your money is going to go to exchange rates. 50 USD is not 50 pounds. If you keep this in mind from day one you will have a easier time.

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
