Study AND intern abroad!! Best decision I've made in college Past Review

By (Samford University) - abroad from 09/05/2018 to 12/15/2018 with

CEA CAPA Education Abroad: London, England

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Absolutely it was worthwhile. I learned so much about how to live and work in a culture that was unfamiliar, how to navigate public transportation, how to budget and meal plan, how to plan cost-effective trips, and so much more. I feel confident that I could live in any country in the world because of this program.

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

You can do London "cheapily" if you grocery shop and don't eat out a good deal! Eating out gets quite expensive, but grocery shopping is often much cheaper than back home!

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Anticipating spending more rather than less. You want to be able to say "yes" to seeing a lot of shows (if that's your thing) or going to get drinks with friends; however, eat at home whenever you can!

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Nearly Native or Trail Blazer
Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
