By Mikayla Hildebrandt (University of Northwestern, St. Paul) - abroad from 06/17/2018 to 07/08/2018 with
CEA CAPA Education Abroad: London, England
I gained photography skills through classes, but I also learned a bit of independence while abroad. That was something I wasn't used to. It was definitely worthwhile!

It was fun! There was always something to do or somewhere to go. I made friends from all around the country. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
London is pretty expensive so it ended up being a generally more expensive trip. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Somewhere between 100-150 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Utilize the local grocery markets and try not to eat out every second! Pubs and Costa coffee can add up in a hurry! |

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | That adjustment to a new culture, even one that speaks English, would be hard.
