I really liked the classes I was in and the professors really seemed interested in the topics they were teaching. I took a lot from them and I was really happy with how the classes were set up. By going on different field studies with my classes, I was able to take what I learned in class and incorporate them into what I was seeing in the locations we visited.

On-site administration of your program

Everyone was really friendly and was willing to help us and give us advice when needed. If they did not know an answer, they either did what they could to get us an answer or was good about directing us to the people we needed to talk with.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The housing was in a great and convenient location. I was close enough to the academics, close to grocery stores/restaurants, and was able to easily get to my internship. I had really nice flatmates, so the program did a good job of placing me in a good location.

The food in London was amazing. I always had somewhere to go to get food, no matter what time of day it was. CAPA also offered a few activities that were geared around food, for example, they brought us to a restaurant to try new foods and they also had high tea in the beginning. This helped me branch out to different types of foods.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I really felt like I was able to be integrated into the local culture. My internship helped me feel what it was like to work in London and face the struggles of what it may be like to work there full time. Also, living in an apartment helped me feel like what it may be like to live on my own London and helped me the get independence, such as food shopping and commuting. I was also able to make a lot of friends, so we were able to hang out and go places that made us feel like we were part of the culture.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I was fortunate that I personally did not have to deal with health care, so I do not have much to say about this. However, I know my program does address health issues and have ways to support those who have to use these services because they did talk about it in orientation.

I felt safe in London. I was never put in any situation where I was uncomfortable or unsafe and I was able to quickly learn how to keep myself safe in a foreign country.

I was able to get an experience where I was able to see what it was like to be an independent person. I woke up each day, excited to see what was going to happen. CAPA did a good job of supporting me and being there when I needed them but was also able to give me the space I needed to thrive.

This was more of a challenge for me because I have a hard time managing money, especially that I was not earning money while abroad. Because of that, I really had to rely on the money that I made while I was back home before I left. However, I was still able to learn how to budget my money and learned ways to make sure I was not overspending money, especially on things that I did not necessarily need. Also, the staff was very helpful when it came to finances. They were always willing to give recommendations on where to eat or where to shop to help save money.

• I felt like it was hard to get a hold of the professors outside of classes, so maybe having a easier way to get a hold of the professors
