London: You'll never want to leave Past Review
By Alexandra J (English Writing and Communications , University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh) for
CEA CAPA Education Abroad: London, England
Studying abraod in London was the most amazing thing I've ever done, but it was because of what an amazing city it is, not because of the program I chose. London was unlike anywhere I've ever been before and I'm already saving money to go back.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The faculty was very nice and the courses topics were very interesting, though the course work itself was only mildy interesting and consisted mostly of busy work that did not contribute to our abroad experience. The highlight of the academic experience is the internship option. Though the internship class that goes along with it is the most negative aspect. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The faculty and staff were very nice and very helpful with whatever academic or other issues arose during the semester. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The area we lived in was amazing and was close to our program provider's building. To compensate for the well-to-do area however, the quality of the housing was low with too many people in one apartment and many maintence problems and the maintence staff was apathetic to the multiple problems that arose. |
* Food: |
The program provided 40 pounds a week as a food stipend which was extremely helpful. There were many grocery stores and delicious/cheap places to eat in every neighborhood. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
There were some very cool group trips and tours arragned by the program and other providers were reccomended for excursions to other countries. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
