Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The course with the InternshipI got a lot out of my course. The majority of our time was spent out of the classroom on excursions, which I think was beneficial and made my learning experience much more rich. was more of a burden than anything else. I felt it took time away that I could spend getting more out of my trip and it wasn't educational.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

CAPA was a great program because while we were given the freedom to live on our own, there was always a CAPA representative there to assist you. I could count on them for everything from knowing the best restaurant to go to, the best travel company to do tours with, lending me a phone, to answering any concerns or questions I had about my Internship or courses.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The location and set up of my flat was perfect. We were supplied with anything we would need and had no problems during our stay.

* Food:

It was left to students to acquire their own food. Sainbury's was just down the street from our flat as well as many pubs and restaurants. In London, you'll never have a shortage of places to go. Curry became very popular among my flatmates during our stay.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The excursions/events planned by CAPA were really great, as well as the sight seeing and traveling to other countries I did on my own. The end of the year dinner was a lot of fun. You get one last chance to see your teachers and other CAPA workers as well as the other students in the program. Plus, the food was delicious. I loved going on the teacher led tours of different areas, esp. the your of Kings Road.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt very safe in London. I had no health problems while I was there, other than a cold. But a classmate of mine did get sick while we were there. She had no problem getting medical attention and one of the CAPA workers actually stayed with her all night, going above and beyond the call of duty.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I really believe I got more out of this program and experience than I could ever hope for. London is a city for any type. There's such a rich culture, it's great for homebodies, food lovers, theatre or music buffs, those interested in history, etc. I encourage people to take the chance and travel abroad. It's truly a life changing experience and this program lets you make the most of it. Don't be afraid to talk to CAPA advisors as well as your home campus advisors along the way, they're very helpful and will work hard to make sure you have the greatest experience. Take chances! Have fun!
