Personal Information

The term and year this program took place: Fall 2009

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

What was disappointing was that the courses were composed of students only from US universities. I would have preferred to have had classes with UK students, for that would have provided a better understanding of British culture.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

FIE taught good courses, but I did not like being with the American students. It took away from the being abroad experience.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The location was wonderful I am very grateful for having had the privileged of staying there. However, the Housing provider took a long time to respond to maintenance requests.

* Food:

We bought and cooked our own food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

would have has a better experience in UK classes.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Health was delt with by our own means and pocket. I felt safe in London.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

No Foreign Language.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Take advantage of every opportunity there.
