Prague Past Review
By Denise L (Accounting, University of Arizona) for
CEA CAPA Education Abroad: Prague, Czech Republic
My experience abroad has been a constant learning experience. I have experienced a number of cultures and interacted with a number of immature people which helps me to realize the people I enjoy being around. I have also learned so much about who I am and the kind of person I want to be from here on out

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
the workload was not too bad and as for teaching methods it really depended on the teacher. I had one that was a great teacher and the others were not as good. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The program was alright in helping to adapt to the Czech culture however, whenever I had questions about travel throughout the Czech Republic they were not answered to my expectations. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
the neighborhood and location was wonderful however, living with 8 girls in one apartment is entirely too many. Also, I had to purchase a number of items to settle-in that could have been avoided if CEA were to keep things from previous students. |
* Food: |
there was not really any advice on where to eat however, I was able to find good restaurants on my own. Also, CEA did a Czech cooking night which was a lot of fun. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The ballet was alot of fun however, they bought really cheap seats that had limited view and there were not very many tickets. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I felt safe pretty much all the time here. Healthcare was a pain in the but and they are not very much help so only go to the doctor if necessary. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
