Became more independent and was able to deal with language barriers in different countries easier than I would have if I had come straight from America
Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was a great amount. The grading system was the same for most professors which made it easy to comprehend between professors. There was more reading assignements than at my American college. It took getting used to but it was nice not having to worry about taking tests or quizzes besides the midterm or final while I was traveling. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
There wasn't any weaknesses during my education in Rome. The strengths are that the classes are small so the professors can concentrate on the students individually. The location is great. Next to restaurants and parks and the metro/bus |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
|
* Food: |
The grocery stores are all close to the apartments |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The weekend trip in the beginning of the year to Florence was amazing. You were ablet o have fun with the people in your program and experience the new culture with them |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I have been healthy the entire program. If a student does get sick there are Pharmacy's all over Rome |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
Language acquisition improvement? |
I wished that the Italian class would focus more on how to help you in daily life in Italy instead of words that I would never need to use. However, it is Italian 101 so it has to be taught so students continuing to 102 know whats going on |
