Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The work was not too difficult, it was about average and comparable to my home university. The only difference from abroad school work and my home university work is that I have slightly more homework at my home university.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The administrators of the program were very helpful and informative when telling us about the new things we would experience.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

The food in restaurants was very good, and I was able to find good markets and supermarkets to buy my own food to make at home.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The overnight trip to Florence and the day trips to Orvieto and Bomarzo were all extremely interesting and fun. They added a lot to the cultural experience.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I never really felt that I was in any type of danger, and I remained in good health throughout the semester.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

Not too many people spoke English, and I tried to use as much Italian as I knew every day.

* What could be improved?
  • N/A
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I would just tell them to have the time of their lives and to never let anything hold them back from doing and experiencing new things. They should try as hard as they can to immerse themselves in the culture.
