Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The teachers seemed to be experts in their field, however they were not exactly "teachers." Therefore the topics were interesting, but not taught very well. We were frequently given an abundance of homework and quizzes. I was given more homework abroad than at my home university.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The staff is very unhelpful. Do not expect to receive guidance or any assistance with this program.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My roommates and I were housed in a terrible location, not even within the borders of Rome. Due to our unhappiness, we were told that we would be relocated to a more suitable neighborhood and location. However, days before being relocated we were told that the staff had revoked their decision, and it would simply be our responsibility to make due with what we were given. This was one of the worst experiences of my life.

* Food:

The program did not offer any food, however the location food was amazing!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Our program organized a trip to a vineyard that was very interesting and enjoyable.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Health and safety abroad never seemed to be an issue. I felt very safe in Rome and the health incidents I'd heard of were handled appropriately.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
