What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
The experience was definitely worthwhile and I learned how to be independent and how to interact with other people

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The professors were very accommodating and they made everything so easy to understand. The coursework was not very demanding and it was a great experience.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

There were support services and insurance. I have learning accomodations and they were to replicate the same conditions I get back from my home university there.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We lived in a four person apartment that was very spacious and located in the heart of downtown Sydney.

* Food:

We cooked for ourselves so that depends on you.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Although mostly interacting with Americans, I did some interacting with Australians and they are very nice and open to showing you around the neighborhood.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I had no health related issues but they do have basic medication in most stores (Advil, Dayquil).

* Safety:

Sydney is the fifth safest city in the world so there was never a time I did not feel safe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

CAPA made everything so easy that you did not have a question that they could not answer

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

The exchange rate favors the U.S. so you are saving a lot of money while in Australia.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $75
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Save before you go! Get a job that pays a lot because I spent nearly $2500 while there.
