Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was very minimal and the grading system was quite unfair Teachers tended to be very biased. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
I think that the administration were very disorganized and not helpful at all. I still have yet to receive my grades from studying abroad. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Breakfast was provided for students every morning, which was really nice as we could grab something on the way out of the door. I lived in a single, which was kind of small, but nothing to complain about. I also lived in the heart of London. The hotel was located in Victoria, which was only a couple minutes from Buckingham Palace. |
* Food: |
It was a challenge for me to buy groceries and cook for myself every night. Luckily their was a grocery store minutes away from the Vandon house, and they had pre-made meals available. I also ate a lot of Indian while I was in London! |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
The city was probably not the safest, so Americans really have to watch their bags and pockets. Other than that I never felt threatened when I walked home with my friends after a night out. The best thing to do is to stick with others and you will be fine. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | About 250, sometimes more. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | You really have to budget, especially if you plan to travel a lot because traveling can cost a lot of money. |
Language
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? | None |
