My study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile, I got to travel to places that I would have never been able to visit otherwise.

Review Your Program

|
* Host Country Program Administration

|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Lived with 5 other girls, apartment was nice.

Close to class and the Grand Ile. |
* Food: |
We did a pretty good job of cooking delicious meals in our apartment. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Social aspects were great, I loved my group. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Professor Keffer went with me twice to get medicine at the drugstore, once for pink eye and once for an ear infection. I tried to contact our program coordinator both times before calling Dr. Keffer, but the coordinator was never available, which was quite frustrating. I was also sick with a bad stomach bug on one occasion, and again the coordinator was not available to help, so one of the girls from the other apartment was able to give me some of her anti-nausea prescription so that I would stop getting sick. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I was able to live on about 20 euros, and I saved the rest for travel. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I didn't know that I would have to pay to make reservations on the trains. |

Comments: | Immanuel Kant's Critique of Judgment is pretty difficult to get through, but Professor Keffer made it so much fun and was really great at bringing Kant's ideas down to our level. The walks were also great. |
