Academically challenging. Past Review
By A student (Philosophy., Middlebury College) - abroad from 01/03/2013 to 05/31/2013 with
Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies - Oxford
What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was academically stimulating, but it is unfortunate that we were not able to live/learn with local British students. We only mingle with around 22 other American students who are also participating in the program. That said, I am extremely grateful to have met some wonderful and inspiring tutors in my program.

Instructor: | Professor Andrew Moore |

Comments: | The course is academically challenging and rigorous as we have to write a 2000-word paper each week for the class. The class is on a one-on-one basis, which allows me to develop a close relationship with the tutor. Professor Moore is also very inspiring and often encourages me to push my limit in my philosophical pursuit. |

Comments: | It was a seminar with two other American students and a Professor from the History department. The class environment is friendly and extremely intellectually inspiring. Method of teaching is mostly class discussions and we are encouraged to raise questions and topics that are of our interest. I enjoy the seminar a lot. |

Comments: | I personally had a hard time taking this course, which is mandatory for all students in the program. As a Philosophy major who has no previous background in history, the course poses certain challenges to me i.e. having to write a term-paper on a subject that I have no prior background etc. |
