Program Overview

This internship offers students and emerging professionals an immersive introduction to the collaborative environment of stage and screen production. Interns will support various departments within an active production team, gaining exposure to the creative, technical, and logistical elements that bring performances to life.

Whether you’re drawn to direction, design, production, or technical roles, this internship provides a unique opportunity to explore multiple aspects of the performing arts under the guidance of experienced professionals.


Key Roles & Learning Areas

Interns may assist professionals across a wide range of departments, such as:

  • Production & Direction: Work alongside the Producer and Director in planning, coordination, and creative decision-making.
  • Set & Costume Design: Support the Set Designer/Builder and Costume Designer in visual storytelling through physical space and character presentation.
  • Technical Crew: Gain hands-on insight into the work of Light Designers, Electricians, Sound Engineers, and Boom Operators to understand the technical demands of a live or recorded performance.
  • Makeup, Hair & Props: Assist with character transformation and the management of key on-stage elements with Makeup/Hair Artists, Prop Managers, and Stage Managers.
  • Cinematography & Visual Media: Collaborate with the Camera Operator, Photographer, Storyboard Artist, and Production Sound Mixer to support the visual and audio recording of performances.
Assignments and responsibilities will be tailored to each intern’s background, interests, and experience level.

Cerca Abroad offers each year scholarships to in-person program participants. The scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence or financial hardship. The application deadline is the 31st of January 2026 and all successful recipients of the award will be notified by the end of February.
