Hello, my name is Sahil, I am a student from Otrando, Canada and I’m here in Athens, Greece on a medical internship with Cerca Abroad. So the reason I chose to do this internship is so that I get more agile with hands on experience. For me personally, this internship has provided me with the ability of being in many different surgical departments, so I’ve been able to go and rotate in different surgical specialties, such as general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, neurology and plastic surgery. So, I was able to learn from many different surgeons, doctors and the nurse were amazing. They taught me a lot. I’ve been able to get a better grasp to which medical specialty I’m interested in. So, that’s been really great for me. I’ve even had the ability to see different cases, so that’s been a dream come true for me and I would like to thank Dr Dimitris because he practically participates in the medical techniques so that’s been really great. In terms of Athens and Greece itself, the country is beautiful, there’s not much more you can say about that. The people are amazing, the food is great, I absolutely loved the culture. It’s been so fun exploring the city by myself. It’s been very fun contacting the locals, the coordinators of this program have been amazing, I’ve had no issues, they’ve even been able to answer all of my questions and that’s been amazing. So, I think that in terms of recommendation I would reference this program to anyone who’s interested in medicine as a physician, physician assistant, physiotherapy or even nursing, this will be a great opportunity for you to get some hands’ on experience. So, I’m very happy to have followed this internship.
