Favorite program in a wonderful city October 30, 2025
By A student (Medicine, University of South Florida) - abroad from 06/19/2022 to 07/16/2022 with
Cerca Abroad: Greece - Medical
Definitely worthwhile! I gained a lot! Independence, confidence and a deeper understanding of a new culture. I also improved my language skills just by navigating daily life and interacting with locals. Beyond academics , I learned how to adapt to new situations and solve problems on the fly , which I know will help me long after the program.

* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Overall, it was a very enriching educational experience . I had the chance to see how medical staff work together in real situations , not just in theory. Observing procedures up close helped me understand the responsibilities and precision required in healthcare. |

| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
Hi, I am Zoe, I am a graduate from the University South Florida. I chose this internship because I wanted to explore a new city and shadow doctors. The program directors here have been amazing. They would accommodate our every need. My favorite thing was that I’ve been able to see the actual surgeries and stand in the rooms. Athens is absolutely beautiful and I think everyone should visit Athens at least once. |
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Living on a student's budget was actually quite easy. Every costs like food , transport and essentials were very affordable and there were plenty of student discounts that made everything even more manageable. |
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | 110$ |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Absolutely! first, always look for student discounts, from transport to museums. Cooking simple meals instead of eating out saves a lot. Using public transport or walking instead of taxis helps too. Also, plan purchases ahead , avoid impulse buying and keep a small daily budget to stay on track. Even little habits add up fast. |
