Cerca Abroad: Protected Marine Area Conservation in Greece

Located in the heart of Greece’s Amvrakikos Wetland National Park, this internship places you at the center of essential marine conservation efforts. As a participant, you’ll actively engage in field research, focusing on the monitoring of sharks and rays—key species that play a crucial role in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems.

In addition to species-specific research, interns contribute to broader conservation activities, including local fishery monitoring and biodiversity assessments through scuba diving, snorkeling, stand-up paddling (SUP), and the use of baited remote underwater cameras (BRUVs). No prior scientific background is necessary—just a passion for marine conservation and a desire to make a real impact.
