Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Absolutely amazing. Excellent professors, courses, and most importantly, travel seminars. CET Prague takes its students on FREE travel seminars. 10/10 |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The best experience of my life! CET Prague program administration was beyond welcoming. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
They gave us an apartment that was spacious and stocked with everything. Give you options of mixed gender or not housing. My random roommate became my best friend, and we have already visited each other twice after the program! CET Prague also provided me with a Czech roommate, and we grew close as well. I hope I can come back so I can see her again! |
* Food: |
Prague has excellent, cheap food. The academic building is located in central Prague near a lot of cafes and shops. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I share a similar cultural background to the Czech people, so I felt I adjusted nicely. Also, learning basic Czech helps a lot. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
The CET Prague program gave us proper healthcare for the duration of our stay. |
* Safety: |
CET Prague took orientation very seriously and took the time to address any issues/cultural adjustments they felt would be beneficial to know for living in Czechia. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
As a student on financial aid, I saved a lot to afford to study abroad. That being said, choosing Prague saved me financially. It's a relatively cheaper city compared to more Westernized ones. I definitely had the lowest day-to-day costs compared to my friends in other abroad programs. CET Prague included housing and a travel pass that we used in Prague for free. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $100 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Pick a program that offers hosung included! Saves you a lot of time and money, not having to worry about finding it on your own. |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? | Beginner |
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? | None, but I knew other slavic languages with similar vocabulary and grammar. |
How many hours per day did you use the language? | 0 |
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? | Master basic phrases (hi, thank you, please, goodbye, etc.) |
