What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
One of the best things that happened in China was becoming good friends with my chinese roommate and also a few others in the program. It was so satisfying to have my chinese reach the level at which I could have a friendship relationship in Chinese.

The BIT staff was helpful, but be careful if arranging to stay afterwards because once the program stops being the intermediary, the staff at BIT can be sort of ornery, I was glad to leave when I did soon after the program ended. But during the semesters the shifus and ayis were wonderful

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Sometimes the water was cold and sometimes there wasn't heat so it got pretty chilly, bring lots of warm clothes

Made great friends through social dancing in the city and also in the program.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? No, I think the costs were very manageable and overall the semester was very comparable to one at UT, but with a lot more traveling
