What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
This experience gave me the chance to be immersed in Italian culture in a really special way that I would not have access to without the program. It was definitely worthwhile and I recommend it!

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The professors!
  • Location/city
  • Ability to travel
* What could be improved?
  • Some organization and communication from the program
  • Flexibility with attendance due to travel delays
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? The level of language immersion is completely under your control! Since many people in Siena speak English, it is up to you to start a conversation in Italian instead of defaulting to English because it's easier. If you really want to learn the language, you have to take that initiative, but once you do, people are generally nice and forgiving if you mess up a little. Often they're just excited that you want to learn.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
