Very much so! I look at Canada in a whole new way.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I learned quite a bit during my time in Montreal!

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The entire staff is AMAZING! They become like your second family and are there for you whenever you need them.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The Residences are centrally located downtown in an easily recognizable spot. Classes are a 10-15 minute walk away and the grocery store is only a 5 minute walk away.

* Food:

School is more than willing to adapt for dietary restrictions. Most food is available but tends to have less preservatives and organic is more mainstream. To moderately save money, try shopping at Provigo. To save highly on money, try shopping at metro grocery stores.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Be sure to go on the trips to Quebec City and Ottawa. They are well worth it and a steal in terms of price!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Very safe city. School keeps apprised of any evolving situations and are quick to warn you of things such as riots or protests. Be prepared to pay hundreds of dollar with a credit card though if you need to visit a hospital. Of course, the school insurance will reimburse you for the costs but payment is expected upfront.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

Always start your conversations with locals in French then switch to English. It shows a commitment and will help you remember how to start conversations in French if you need to later in life.
