About
This program begins with a two-week intensive Spanish language course with visits to volunteer with non-profits around the community in the afternoon. Possible volunteering placements could be public schools, orphanages, food shelters, a home for mothers who have been abused, or a variety of other non-profits. During the final two weeks students will concentrate on Spanish medical vocabulary and skills, participating in rotations at local health centers and expanding their communication abilities. This program offers the opportunity to observe the public health system in Ecuador and its offerings for urban populations that need low cost assistance.
