Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Overall, what I was expecting for abroad. Classes are not the main priority during the semester, experiencing culture is. I appreciated the freedom less homework gave me while abroad. Some of the professors are not great though and did not give good feedback/were not responsive--a privilege I was used to at Middlebury.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Great, always responsive

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Amazing. In a great location, I lived at the Social Hub City. Definitely put this as your first choice.

* Food:

Shared kitchens with 12 floor mates. Could get pretty gross at times, but there was a dishwasher which was awesome.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I wish I would've joined more student groups at UvA, because the majority of my classes were thru CIEE which was just American Students. I do feel tho it is easy to meet Dutch people out and about, just say hello!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Great, there was student insurance, easy to schedule appt, and get coverage.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)
