The work was appropriate and helped me in learning about the health care systems of Argentina and Uruguay and how it compares and contrast from our health care(USA). The faculty were great. They were knowledgeable, supportive, and understanding of the different academic abilities of each student. This program was great and definitely one of the best decisions I have ever made in my academic career. But one thing that would enhance this program would be adding more students. So that when students are separated into the field work there are more students creating the group work effort that is required in health care.

Carolina was terrific. A charming lady that if issues needed to be addressed dealt with to the best of her abilities.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I had two home stays. My home stay in Buenos Aires was great. She was very polite, clean, and very nice. My second stay was in Montevideo which was nice. She was a single mom with two teenage kids. She was nice but the house was not kept up and always every cold and Montevideo's humidity didn't help. But overall it was a good experience.

The food was great. My suggestion to future students is expect to gain some weight, nothing crazy but don't worry because as soon as you get back home the pounds come off with exercise. Since I did a summer program I had to enjoy while the getting was good which involved eating a little bit of everything. But three weeks after getting home with running and health eating choices returned to my normal healthy weight.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Buenos Aires is a massive city but even so people are much nicer then in big American cities such as NYC. Montevideo although a city has a big town feel to it. Both cities are beautiful and the experience is both are different but enjoyable none the less.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Living in any city has its hazard. So as long as people are smart and listen to the staff that did a great job advising on safety you should be fine. But even so students should always keep in mind that if you get robbed give them your money and run, even though you may have taken all the required safety steps.
