Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Very hands on, field practicum was excellent direct work experience, many public health visits, visit to vietnam was fun and educational, more free time than the globilization and development program at Khon Kaen through CIEE, learned more than any class at WWU

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Very excellent and knowledgeable teachers, ajjan woongsa, ajjan ooh and ajjan dave streckfuss. some of the class periods were very inefficient though, example, many times we would have a four hour class on material that could have been covered in an hour. health visits were very interesting, learned more than any classroom, field practicum was very good as well. my expectations were met.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

safe housing

* Food:

Thai food is delicious, and you can eat for very cheap, also not much wheat in the Thai diet, so good for glutin free. many places to buy food. spicy

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

many thai festivals on the university and the town. trip arranged and paid for to vietnam, was a highlight, we had a week break where we went to the south to a beach town Phuket, i would recommend future students to do that. public health visits and community visits were a highlight

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

very safe place, never felt unsafe. easy access to healthcare, did see the doctor at the hospital, thourough and helped

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

I learned thai quickly, and had to use it everyday because in the NE of Thailand, not many people know english. Thai class was fun, great teacher, we also had peer tutors that were Thai and it was very useful. Once i became friends with thai students, i learned the language fast. I miss speaking Thai
