Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The work load at times seemed more than substantial, but the classes were extremely interactive and the coursework stimulating. The classes were small and personal, and they featured class trips and interactive programs to reinforce the lessons. The expectations for participation, language abilities, and academic dedication were very high, but the staff was supportive and encouraging. I loved all of my classes.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program surpassed my expectations in nearly every way. The small group at first seemed limiting, but we were forced to become much closer because of the small size. I cannot praise the program leaders enough

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

My host family accompanied every food need or preference. They were wonderful

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We hiked from soller to. Deia and stayed overnight in a refugee

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

It felt safe. I'm not so sure how safe it was in actuality, but I was comfortable walking the city at night

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

We took a vow to only speak in the local language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The staff was truly supportive and encouraging
  • There was a large community of international students
* What could be improved?
  • The program could be expanded, six was a very limiting group
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Do it. The student would need to be a little more independent, because the program consisted of only six students and an island can seem limiting. But it was the best three months of my life, and if a student wants to enjoy their three months abroad but actually emerge themselves, is is the ideal program
