Exploring Morocco: A Student's Perspective Past Review
By Sarah Hale (Birmingham-Southern College) - abroad from 05/26/2017 to 05/16/2017 with
CIEE: Rabat - Language and Culture
I improved my Arabic, especially my conversational skills and my Darija. I learned extensively about the culture of Morocco, including the history, politics, and religion of the country. As well as that, I learned about the culture and history of the Magreb and of the Middle East, particularly in regards to the Arab Spring. I learned about the philosophies, perspectives, and everyday thoughts of those living in this part of the world. Through this experience, I broadened my worldview through my everyday (but meaningful) conversations with my host family and local friends. It was absolutely worthwhile.

Reasons For Studying Abroad
To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you. |
The Avid AdventurerThe wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal. |
