Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The workload was manageable and the grading system was a little more difficult |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
There were always people around to help you with whatever you needed, all the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. My program size of 90 was perfect, it wasn't too big or too small. All of my expectations were met through the CIEE program. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
My house location was in El Centro, where not many other students were placed, besides the students in the residencia. Not being close to other students was a con but I lived with another student in an apartment below our host family's apartment. It was very nice because we had our own privacy and independence. Yet I did not like the fact that we had less time with our host family in this arrangement. Yet our host family treated us like one of their own family members and were so caring and helpful to us. |
* Food: |
Leonor, my host mom, was very accomodating in cooking food that we liked and stopping cooking food that we told her we did not enjoy. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
My program took us to Morocco, Africa and showed us their way of life there and helped us experience their culture, it was great! |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
The overall safety of Sevilla was great! I never once felt threatened or in any sort of danger while there. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I spent around $3,500 on all my extra travels and personal purchases. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Be prepared to spend a lot of money and try to view spending your money as gaining experiences that are once in a lifetime, don't hold back! |
