Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The academics were great. There was more work than I expected but it was all very helpful as far as practicing Spanish and therefore it didn't bother me. All of the courses were challenging yet interesting and made you want to study and go to class.

On-site administration of your program

The program was great. We saw our program director all the time and she made an effort to get to know each of the students. The program was run amazingly with plenty of trips and possible experiences to get to know people in our group and others. We were given a huge number of opportunities in different areas depending on your interest.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived with an older woman, a spnaish senora. It was fabulous. I actually had to switch houses after the first 3 weeks because my original family had to move and no longer had an extra move. The program was incredibly helpful and allowed me to go meet with different families to be sure that I would be comfortable when moving. I ended up choosing a senora. I had my own room and bathroom. I was able to come in and out as I chose and had all meals prepared for me. The change was difficult but my senora was so energetic and cute that she did everything she could to make sure that I felt at home. She is one thing that I will miss the most! <br /><br /> My house was very nice, very clean and had everything that I needed. The location was great, it was about a 15-25 minute walk to class depending on where I was going and I had several friends within 5 minutes of my house. I loved my location. It was very close to the center of the city which was great.

My food was prepared for me at my house each day. If for any reason I wasn't going to be home for a meal I could have a sandwich and snacks prepared for me. My senora gave me a good variety of food and if there was ever anything that I did not like she was fine with it and made sure not to make it again.

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Amazing. My program was very close. We had some trips that were planned just for the 26 of us which was so much fun. They provided us with tons of opportunities to get to know each other and Spaniards as well.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I always felt save throughout the program. It was easy to adjust to living in Sevilla, it felt like home immediately. People were always around to answer your questions. Any of my friends who had to go to the doctor always had fine experiences.

When I first came to spain my spanish was pretty basic. My vocabulary was much smaller and i know that I did not correctly conjugate any verbs. Now I feel that I can carry on a normal conversation with little confusion. Of course there are still plenty of things that I need to improve upon but my confidence has increased tremendously and that has made all the difference.
