CIMBA: Paderno del Grappa - Undergraduate Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Learned a little Italian, had great memories from the weekends, made some good friends while I was there.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Fairly average work load, some of the professors weren't super entertaining or educational but I learned a little bit here in a month

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Average, willing to help out, sometimes a bit unfriendly but overall useful

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Nice to not have to buy stuff once you get there but the lack of air conditioning is horrible. Bigs flew into my room late at night, very small and very out of date. My shower didnt have a floor, the sun came into my window every morning and the high school bell rang every morning at 7 am and woke us all up

* Food:

It's edible, but only average pasta and it's literally the same thing every day. Go to the tabacchi and buy a panini

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

travel on weekends was awesome and the program did a good job of providing trips and busses to local and far away places and train stations or airports

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

safe place to live, there are like no people living there. In terms of health the nurse is only somewhat useful

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? It's pretty hard to live here for this program. Don't expect much in terms of the living situation but make the most of the weekends and the people there with you in Paderno. It's also kind of far out of the way of everything which is nice because you will always be safe but also inconvenient to get anywhere
