What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Learned a ton about myself and who I want to be.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Great teachers and unique teaching styles than my home university. Loved how teachers actually actually used the textbooks they required students to buy for classes.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Location of housing was great. Would have liked to have more group planned excursions instead of feeling like we just got thrown into a new place by ourselves.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Pretty great location, easy to walk places to.

* Food:

No meal plan included in price, very disappointing. Had to go through a bunch of extra strings to get a meal plan.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Polynesian Cultural Center, Pearl Harbor, and Camping were the best.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Felt very safe after a while. There's enough people around to feel comfortable.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? There are many ups and downs of being away from home for an extended amount of time, however, if you meet friends and get involved in the area with locals and other students it truly becomes home and the most amazing place. Best of luck!
