Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
There was not to much workload. Only had class Monday through Thursday and classes were extremely easy. Only my credits transfer to my host University so the grades did not matter and I still got all A's and B's without much effort. Only negative is the classes were extremely small and attendance was mandatory so it felt like we were still in grade school. However, the professors are all extremely nice and helpful. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Great Administration, really lackadaisical rules. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
Great housing and host mother. Cooking was fantastic and we could do whatever we wanted other than a few simple household rules like turning off electricity, taking short showers, and eating at meal time or letting her know that you wont be there. Only negative is I wish the location was more in the center of the city. I would prefer to be closer to the inner city and night life than to school. |
* Food: |
Great food. Always more food than I wanted and host mother would force you to eat more than you should on nights you are going out drinking to keep you alive and going. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I need to go back!!!! Most fun thing I have ever done in my life. Will always remember. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Madrid is probably the safest city I have ever been to. Very clean, very low crime, amazing city. Only threat to my safety and health was myself and my nightlife habits. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
Language acquisition improvement? |
Everyone in the school spoke English, but everyday out in the city you had to speak spanish and there wasnt much English to be heard or understood. |
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition? |
