My time in Athens through CYA was an experience of a lifetime. I delved deeper into my passions, explored islands, and made memories I will never forget! The admins were very understanding when my flight was delayed and even accommodated for my late arrival. One of the best aspects of CYA is the cultural connection students experience from living in apartments in Pangrati!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I made a student budget for myself that was specific to my situation and kept track of almost all my expenses given that I am FGLI. The situation was very easy to manage and Athens offers ton of experiences that are free or low-cost.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 70
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Budget an allocated amount per day or per week depending on the length of the program! Meals and goods are more costly on islands than in Athens. Grocery shopping and going to the local markets are two ways to save money and connect to Greek culture.
