CBS Semester Past Review
By Leslie Olsovsky (The University of Texas at Austin) - abroad from 01/18/2016 to 06/28/2016 with
Copenhagen Business School: Copenhagen - Direct Enrollment & Exchange
CBS offered courses that wouldn't be available to me at my home university. I loved the different material, and being in classes with a host of international students that had diverse backgrounds and opinions.

|
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I rented an apartment through AirBnb for the semester as housing was limited/difficult to get. My husband and I found a fantastic place in a great neighborhood. |

|
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
Danish culture is very welcoming and everyone was lovely. |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I did not use healthcare through CBS but I did use the local clinics available to me with my residence permit. Overall, service and availability was excellent and far surpassed anything I have experienced in the states. |
| * Safety: |
|
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
I really enjoyed my coursework at CBS, and Copenhagen is a great place to live. It's also a great place to travel from as the airport is convenient to the city center with flights all around Europe. |
Finances
|
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Copenhagen is a very expensive city, however there are ways to cut down expenses, like biking around town. |
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $500 |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Like the local students, have dinner parties instead of going out all the time. It is hard to find a cheap meal in Copenhagen and cooking can help save money. Also, get a bike! |
