The Azerbaijani Language:  A language with modern significance in both Eastern Europe and Western Asia, Azerbaijani offers a window into the rich history and culture of the Caucasus region. Closely related to Turkish and other Western (Oghuz) Turkic languages, the Azerbaijani language is spoken in many of the countries bordering the Caspian Sea, including millions of speakers in Iran.
