Curtin University: Perth – Study Abroad & Exchange
My time in Australia was a once in a lifetime experience. The university life was the foundation for exploring the rest of the country. I would study abroad again if I get the chance. I would recommend a study abroad to anyone.

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The housing was convenient because I could easy walk to any part of campus in 15 minutes. However, the rules in which we were forced to abide by were unrealistic and ridiculous. No one was over to my flat after 11PM all days of the week. Permission was required from management to have visiting friends or relatives stay over any period of time. There were cleaning inspections every two weeks in which all parts of the flat had to be in move out condition. I did not feel as if I was allowed to have fun in this environment. I would not choose to live in George James Dorm in KV again. |

* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
The university did provide field trips; however, I found that traveling by myself and with friends was mainly cheaper and allowed me to travel all over Australia without the restrictions of others. |

* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

A Look Back
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | A student who would to explore and learn about different cultures would benefit from this experience. I would recommend bring as few materials as possible and go out to experience all the country has to offer. This is a once in a lifetime so do everything you can even if no one will do it with you. |
