Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
Denmark has FAR more group projects, which is an adjustment. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
The accessibility and support were fantastic |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I love my host family but they didn't speak a ton of english which forced me to learn a lot of Danish, which was cool. I miss them and still write them often. |
* Food: |
WOW Danes love pork and potatoes. It was great to eat traditional danish food but I did miss variety, but really I'm not a picky eater, I don't care. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I loved playing for a danish basketball team and bartending. It was a great way to meet people. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
A very safe country if you didn't act like an idiot. I was grateful that they gave us access to health care, which I needed. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
|
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | I spent no more than $20/week on expenses. I was incredibly stingy so and I was way lower than most other people. I only traveled one weekend not designated as a leave the country time. |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Flights are not cheap out of Copenhagen!!! Be prepared for that. |
