Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

DIS had its own library on "campus" and gave out lots of pertinent material that came in handy when writing papers or assignments.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Incredibly helpful! I felt very comfortable emailing the program administration, which I did multiple times, since I switched in and out of about five different classes. They were incredibly efficient and helpful, always clearly telling me my next step and making things as seamless as possible.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My housing was not modern or new by any means, which was a shame, so I would have preferred slightly nicer housing. However, the housing department itself was GREAT! I had a little bit of trouble with stolen items from the common refrigerator and after alerting DIS to the issue, they were kind enough to offer to provide me with a mini fridge in my room. It made me life a million times easier.

* Food:

DIS provided us with some snacks and food and, this is more a compliment to the cuisine of Denmark, but it was all delicious!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

My housing allowed me to mix a lot with Danes and other international students.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

DIS was very careful to warn us about all the possible safety hazards and did everything short of hold our hands. Fortunately, Copenhagen is incredibly safe!!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

* Was housing included in your program cost? Yes
* Was food included in your program cost? Yes

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

I took a Danish Language and Culture class (which I 100% recommend!).

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? Beginner
How many hours per day did you use the language?
