What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Incredibly worthwhile trip. Most importantly, gained a new appreciation for a different area of the world. Denmark was incredible, I highly recommend studying here. Great place to visit but better place to live.

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Academically rigorous program especially compared to other Abroad programs. The program is intellectually stimulating yet doable. Is not a "joke," compared to other programs throughout Europe but is incredibly worthwhile.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

DIS did a superb job of facilitating all aspects of Danish life. Very good job by all professors and staff.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Lived in a kollegium, which was a dorm-style apartment complex with predominantly Danish students. Great experience and made lasting friendships of both Danish and other American students.

* Food:

Ate relatively inexpensively due to tough exchange rate. Denmark is a great country but not know for the food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Felt pretty assimilated into Danish culture. My favorite part was commuting by bike everyday.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Very safe city. Little to no crime and very helpful people at night and during the day.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

High quality of living, but also high costs for an American college student.

It was encouraged. It was my most difficult class but worthwhile to try and learn.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? To dress more warmly in the Spring time. To pack less for traveling.

The Networker
An active student leader, it was important for you to network abroad as well. Once overseas, you sought out student clubs, volunteered with local organizations, or attended community events. You encouraged your friends join you, and often considered how you could reflect your international experiences in a resume.
