What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I have learned so much from this experience. Although I learned so much in my classes, the knowledge I have gained while living alone in Copenhagen is knowledge that I could not have gained anywhere else! I have learned to be independent individual, fly to other countries alone, pack lightly! (I am the worst packer), step out of the box, cook for myself, and bike ride like a pro! Learning to live in an unfamiliar environment gives you a great sense of responsibility! I would go back to Copenhagen tomorrow if I could!!! I will never be able to visit 12 countries and over 20 cities in 4 months again. It was truly the experience of a lifetime.

Everything is very expensive in Copenhagen, especially food. Therefore, I felt like I wasn't able to go out to eat as much as I would have liked to and experience Danish food culture because eating out was very expensive. The food stipend was awesome and was able to last me until just about the end of the semester. |
| Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | Maybe about $100. It was hard to budget and determine because during Travel Weeks much more money was spent. |
| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Bring lunch to school so you are not tempted to buy lunch (this gets expensive). Use your food stipend wisely! My bank charged me every time I took money out of the ATM, so take money out in larger amounts. Save as much money as you can to go abroad, money goes quickly and easily! Coffee is expensive as well, even though cappuccinos were to die for, it would have been much more cost-effective to make my own coffee. Also for weekend trips it is much more budget savvy to pack snacks to bring so you don't buy food at the airport, for breakfast, or snacks. |

| * What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | Everyone speaks English- it is their second language! How big of a biking city Copenhagen is! If I had known I would have rented a bike prior to getting there, it would have saved me a lot more money. |

| Comments: | Very disappointed in this class! I thought it was going to be totally different and more about the Danish health care and culture, but it was more of a worldwide approach. There was already so much that I had already learned and it was an elective for me. |
