DIS Copenhagen: Semester

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned how to navigate cities, how to ask for help, how to budget my time and money. I learned that being different is fun, and talking to the person next to you can lead to great friendships. I learned how to plan trips and coordinate with people. I learned a lot and it was all worth it. I learned the lessons of life.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The kollegium I stayed at was very dirty, and had several problems throughout the semester. However I enjoyed the people that were there with me.

* Food:

Given a stipend to buy food, but as a result I didn't get much to try many of the custom dishes in Denmark

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

No health issues

* Safety:

Safest place I have ever been, even safer than Austin. I never had a problem, even extremely late at night by myself.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Copenhagen is expensive

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I received a stipend, so I'm not quite sure what the additional cost was.
