Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
|
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
The metro line where I lived happened to be under construction for the first half of study abroad, so on somedays it was a little bit of a hassle to get into the city. When the metro line was working properly it was very easy to get into the city! |
* Food: |
Danish food is absolutely delicious. Lots of options for vegetarians! |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
|
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
Denmark is a very safe country. As a girl, I never felt unsafe walking in any part of the city alone. However, when there was a shooting in city center, our program advised that we all return to where we were living. In my opinion this was an improper response to the terrorist attack because they had shut down Norreport, the main station, which is how most of us would have gotten home. It would have been much safer and smarter for the program to advise staying indoors wherever we were. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
No
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
Denmark is expensive. The food stipend was pretty helpful. Your spending really depends on how much you travel. Traveling is expensive, but while in Copenhagen most expenses are on food. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $250 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Always use public transit in Denmark. There is no reason to ever use taxis and they are overpriced. For planning travel trips, use momondo and skyscanner to book flights. Norweigian Air is a great airline to use. Avoid eating in restaurants. Eat in cafes. |
Language
* Did your program have a foreign language component? | Yes |
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?
