Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

My core course was very disorganized and my professor seemed to not really know what to do at times. The material was interesting and challenging.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Excellent, helpful and available.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I was placed with the best host family and it was one of the highlights of my experience

* Food:

My host family fed me, they were very helpful with my dietary needs.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

If I hadn't been with a host family, I don't think I would have met any Danes.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Because of the Danish healthcare system, it was very difficult for me to find things like lactose pills.

* Safety:

I felt very safe in Copenhagen

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Academics were challenging, but there was enough free time to travel.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you're a coffee drinker - make your own coffee at home. Eating out in Copenhagen is expensive.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Beginner
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? Intermediate
How many hours per day did you use the language?
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Pimsleur courses from amazon are the best!
