It was a challenge, but the rewards were much greater Past Review
By A student (Brandeis University) - abroad from 01/16/2016 to 05/17/2016 with
DIS Copenhagen: Semester
I gained a huge amount of independence, confidence in myself and my abilities, and I learned to take advantage of opportunities presented to me. Of course it was worthwhile!

* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
It was really stressful that we didn't get our CPR numbers, and therefore access to healthcare, until over halfway through the program. I had an incident and needed a doctor the first week and was freaked out that I didn't have any insurance, and that I needed to pay out of pocket. I ended up getting reimbursed, but it would be much more reassuring to somehow have access to health insurance right upon arrival. |
* Safety: |
|
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
DIS is an incredibly established program that I trusted to keep me safe and challenged academically. |
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $150 |

A Look Back
* What did you like most about the program? |
|
* What could be improved? |
|
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | I wish I knew a little more about Danish people and culture. The people are very reserved when you first meet them, sometimes coming across as rude/cold, and it discouraged me from reaching out to them at first. But once I got to know them better, I ended up establishing really great friendships and got around to understanding Danish culture better. |
