As a scholar of critical race studies and queer studies, I was able to apply the general key concepts I had learned to Danish society.

The DIS program itself was great, but I do not think I would choose to travel to Copenhagen again.

  • I liked the hands-on learning components of the program, namely the field studies and the travel weeks.
* What could be improved?
  • The program should work harder to recruite more students of color. Myself and other students of color often felt isolated and misunderstood.

The Academic or Linguist
You went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you!
